This extension to an existing semi-detached terrace is an exercise in an efficient and clean design. A simple volume is proposed to the rear of the existing dwelling providing an additional bedroom, a large bathroom, and a new open-plan living and dining area for the family to enjoy. Access to light was paramount in the proposal for this south-facing terrace; and as such both high-level and feature glazing are proposed to capture northern and Eastern light. The new extension is intentionally modern in resolution: with a battened presentation to the street filtering both outlook to, and noise from, the surrounding streets.
